Sand Blasters III
Extreme Sand Sculpting Competition. Airs periodically on the Travel Channel.  Check your local listing for air dates and times.  Also check out the Sand Blasters website at www.travelchannel.com/sandblasters to see bios, videos and more info.

March 3 – May 3    Treasure Island, Fl.
 Sloppy Joes’. Come out and see the 40 ton spring break sculpture. It is completed and is illuminated at night and will remain on display until May 3rd.

March 19 – 22    Panama City Beach, Fl.
  Schooners. This place is awesome. Open air, ceiling fans, last of the old Florida local beach bar restaurants. Great food and even better people. We are here twice a year. First for the Easter egg hunt and then the Lobster fest in Sept. Best bartenders in the world.
 
March 30 – April 3 - Tampa, Fl.
  NCAA Woman’s final 4.    We will be creating a welcome sculpture in each host hotel for the teams.
 
April 4 – 13  St. Pete., Largo, Seminole and Pinellas Park, Fl
Great Bay Distributors and Corona team up for this celebration of Cinco de Mayo lobby displays. 10 stores… Albertsons, Winn Dixie, Publix, Wal-Mart, and Sweet Bay are all participating.  Email us for exact locations.

April 17 – 20 Port Aransas, Texas
 Solo and Doubles Masters Competition. No.. we are not blowing them up. That’s only on the Travel Channel. This is the 3rd year for a Double’s category at this event.   Sanding Ovations took top prize the first 2 years and we are looking to make it a tri- fector.
 
May 1 – Marco Island Marriot, Fl
   Beach sculpture for a corporate event

May 7 – 11     Harrison Hot Springs, British Columbia Canada
 Tournament of Champions. Any sculptor that has medaled at the World Champion Comp. is invited to this one. It is a doubles format with no judging and all sculptors are paid to carve. The sculptures are left up for months and the public views and choose their favorites for cash prizes.

May 30 – June 8   Curacao, Antilles
First time event and we’re looking forward to it.  An exhibit type set up with 15 sculptures depicting local favorites and culture.

June 19 – 21   Hampton Beach, New Hampshire
 Masters competition. Greg Grady and crew put on this awesome competition. Eighth year and getting better all the time. There is a waiting list of sculptors that want in on this event. Being a sculptor himself, Greg knows how to put on a show. Plan your vacation around this one!!

July 16 – 20 Revere Beach, Massachusetts
 Masters Competition Sean Fitzy and his family are sooo into this event. All his kids and wife Tracey are involved. Sean is also a fellow sculptor so he knows what it takes to run an event. This is must see in New England for your summer schedule. One of the best groups of sculptors you will see in one place.

July         Port Angeles, Washington
 Masters Competition. The Arts in Action puts this event on. It is so nice to be in a different part of the country at this time of year. The weather is great and the mountains are beautiful to wake up to every morning. This event host some sculptors that you don’t see at other events so it a nice change.

Sept.       Panama City Beach, Fl.
 Schooners. Back again for the Lobster festival. See what fun lobster theme we can think up this time. Always a challenge to be more creative than last year. There is also an Amateur/Pro Am competition that brings out great local talent.
 
Dec. 26 – 29   Clearwater Beach, Fl.
Outback Bowl Beach Day. Held at the Holiday Inn on Clearwater Beach, this event is open to the public. Come see your favorite college teams that will be playing in the Outback Bowl Game Day. Also, tug of War, battle of the bands and sand sculpture photo op!
